Cabrera Village

Casa Mary Jo was designed for the current owner by the British architect Peter Grosscurth.  He founded the ‘Sierra Cabrera Village in 1985 after having a vision of rejuvenating the entire area with buildings of authentic Arabic style. Every building, from the smallest house to palace, was designed in a distinctive Moorish style – with mosaic domes and facades painted in terracotta colour. For a small place, Sierra Cabrera village has masses of character.

Within walking distance of the villa is Bar El Arco. (I recommed the paella.) There are also two of the finest restaurants in Almeria, Riad Cabrera or Fatima’s Morrocan cuisine and Pub Los Pastores.
